Where you are now

At crossroads

You're facing a major career, business, or life decision. The stakes are high and "any option will do" is not an option.

The clock is ticking and you have no time to waste.

You try to push through with the decision, thinking it through, weighing your options, going back and forth.

The answer? It's nowhere near.

Where you'll be after

In flow, action and ease

You feel grounded and relieved.

You know the reason why the right decision was not visible to you.

You feel in control.

What to do next is clear to you.

You can move forward with the decision with confidence and ease.

The root cause

Why the decision is not obvious to you yet

Imagine the decision is all just a jigsaw puzzle.

When the right decision is not yet obvious to us, it usually means that some information is either not connected properly in the bigger picture of the decision, or is missing altogether, or both.

What type of information?

1. Internal (e.g. personal thoughts, feelings, values, beliefs, etc.).

2. External (anything from external sources).

I know this

From experience

In the past 10+ years I've radically changed my career path several times. The decision for some of the career changes took me months or even years. However, for one in particular, it took me just a few seconds. Same level of risk and impact on my life, yet a completely different amount of time spent on the decision-making process.

Looking at the patterns and the differences between these career decisions, I realised that the reason why that one decision was made in just seconds was because I had all the information required for the decision both available and properly connected in my mind.

Additionally, time and time again the same realisation has proved to be the case with all my coaching clients, as well as with all the other people who have come to me for help with their decision-making process.

The solution

Complete the
decision jigsaw puzzle

The decision-making process is all about looking at the decision, at what's missing or not connected properly to its image, and addressing it accordingly.

How to know when some information is missing or not connected properly?

By paying attention to the thoughts and feelings we have about the decision. More often than not, they tell us what’s going on.

For example:

If the information we miss is confidence, we'll notice that we don’t feel confident.
If the information we miss is someone’s opinion, then we wonder what that specific person might say.

Additionally, when the information we have is not connected properly, we'll notice our thoughts and feelings conflicting with each other.

How to address all these?

That's where I come in and help you.

2 hours. In detail.

Behind the doors of our conversation

We'll identify what's preventing you from making the right decision visible to you, and the steps to address it.

As a process, our conversation will be tailored to your specific decision and unique circumstances. Therefore, no rigid structure will be used.

At the same time, to make sure the conversation doesn't fall into a rabbit hole, we'll have some points of reference throughout our time together.

I

The session outcome

Your current circumstances and how far you are in the decision-making process determine what our success together looks like for you. Therefore, we'll define this as a focal point and success metric for the conversation.

II

The current state of the decision

From the big picture all the way into its details, we'll look at the decision as it stands in the present moment to see what information it includes and how it all connects together.

III

The root cause identifier

Is it missing information that you need to gather? Or is it a connection between the available pieces of information that needs to be resolved? We'll find the answer together.

IV

The address

Some mental blocks resolve on their own once named. Others need more work to be resolved. We'll work together on the ones that can be addressed during the session, and aim to resolve them right there and then.

V

The next steps definition

When external input and additional time is needed to resolve the root cause that prevents you from making the decision, we'll define the steps for you to take after the session that will help you with the decision moving forward.

Our work. Together.

One partnership. One goal.

Our working relationship is a collaborative partnership towards you reaching your desired outcome: to make the right decision obvious to you.

Because you are the one who knows all the details of the decision (the risk, the impact, benefits, what worked before for you and not, your values, etc.), during the entire conversation you will keep ownership of the direction in which you want to go with the decision.

Therefore, I will not advise or tell you what to do.

I will also not just listen.

Instead, I will:

01
Ask questions

To raise awareness of what you're not yet aware of.

02
Make observations

To solidify the information that you're already aware of.

03
Challenge assumptions

To clarify how everything in your mind connects together.

And I will invite you to do the same in return.

This is right

For some.
Not for everyone.

This is for you if

  • You want a thinking partner
  • You're ready to do the work
  • You want solutions, not only to feel heard
  • You want the decision to come from you, not from someone telling you what to do

This is not for you if

  • You're looking for someone to just listen
  • You just want emotional support
  • You want to be told what to do
  • You want someone else to do the work for you

Core principles

IntentionalEfficientEase

As a decision-making coach, I help those who want to make the right decisions obvious to them with ease.

Behind my motivation to help people with their decision-making process?

Two beliefs:

1. Our life is the sum of all our decisions, so making the right decisions and having clarity on what "right" means to us is important if we want to have a fulfilling life.

2. No one should struggle with making decisions, no matter the level of risk and impact these have and the amount of time we have available.

I'm naturally drawn to patterns, connections, and the bigger picture. During the coaching conversations, I observe closely, check for inconsistencies, and look beyond what is visible on the surface.

Throughout my coaching practice, I've helped clients with making a broad range of decisions across aspects of life such as: career direction & management, work-life balance, and personal values & priorities.

My coaching qualification?

I earned it from Kingstown College, by having completed their Professional Diploma in Coaching and Mentoring programme which is accredited by the International Coaching Federation (ICF) at Level 2, and the European Mentoring and Coaching Council (EMCC) at Practitioner Level.

Some answered questions

For those who
wonder

"I don't know if you can help me with my decision."

In this case I advise you to first reach out to me via email. If needed, we can have a short 15-minute call and find out if working with me is the right support for you.

"Can indeed only one conversation make the difference?"

Yes. Working with me removes you from your internal thinking loop and brings structure into your thoughts. That alone brings clarity of thought and moves the needle forward.

"I want to work on a longer-term basis with someone to help me with a decision. Can you help with that?"

Please reach out to me via email to discuss your situation and the availability for a longer-term work together.

"I have additional questions. How do I reach out to you?"

You can email me at ioana@iccomsa.com.

Every day the decision stays unresolved, you're paying a cost.
